The night before I had been driving at night for about 2 hours after visiting my grandmother and also barely 10 minutes before the seizure I had been driving from the house down Flippen Rd. before arriving at my old high school. I had my seizure while in the classroom after standing before the class getting ready to give a surprise “Life After High School”. This was a very convenient time since I was planning on driving back to Panama City the next day which is about a 6hr drive. I just thank God that he watched over me and let it happen between driving back and forth.

-From Mark Goffi, I thank everyone for their continued thoughts and prayers. The network of people that Robin's cancer has touched is very inspiring to her and to our family. Since Robin's disease is so widespread it becomes very hard to know what to pray for and what will help the most. I have no doubt that your prayers play a role in the fact that her cancer is stable. While we always pray for a miracle, I am also going to make an executive decision here and ask that you pray for the health of her liver specifically. Maybe if we direct our energy to a specific aspect of her cancer we can have a greater effect. May sound sound silly but you never solve a problem all at once. Little steps and let the momentum build. Once her liver tumors are gone we can move the focus of our prayers elsewhere.
-Shawn Few, a friend to several on the team has asked for prayer for his son (Jeffre) and family. Shawn's son was kidnapped from his school on Monday, Oct. 19th. Shawn had gained custody of his son last week and the mother took Jeffre from school on Monday afternoon. There has been no contact with Jeffre or his mother. Local news media has broadcast this information and we hope for a safe and fast outcome.
-William Ortiz, a cycling friend to the team has spoke to teammate Curtis Tucker and indicated that he may be returning to the USA within a week or so. William has been in Columbia where he had to have emergency surgery to remove a kidney.
-Praying for teammate Doug Delzell, James Hebebrand, and all family/friends traveling to Florida this week for The Great Floridian Ironman race.

- Prayer request from Doug:
Please be in prayer for the family and friends of Bill Heger. Bill was a young man at the age of 22 who passed away on August 16th and has left many grieving friends and relatives behind. Please pray for God's hand to be both comforting in this time and also that He would reveal Himself to them in their time of need.
- Prayer request from Brenda:
I could use some additional prayer for my Uncle Marvin Sanders and his friend Brother Don. My uncle is a very religious person and has a local Christian station in Tupelo, MS. He has been battling some very serious conditions; complications with appendix, cancer, a fib, pneumonia.
Here is the latest post from Caring Bridge website:
We are still very much in need of your prayers and another touch from the Hand of God for both Brother Don and Marvin. First the good news. The new heart rhythm medication Marvin was put on with the admission to the hospital is doing a much better job than the earlier ones and they were able to cancel the procedure scheduled for this morning to shock it back into rhythm. We don't have the results back yet on the bone marrow biopsy and may not have them until Wed. The doctor's educated guess is not a good one so we are trying to hold off worries till we know for certain. Did you ever try to not think of that pink elephant in the room?? Easier said than done.
Brother Don is holding steady. He is not out of the woods, yet, and the best that can be said is that his condition has not seemed to have worsened.
About 3 weeks or so ago, when he was doing okay and back at home, he developed the pneumonia, and when in the hospital it was almost the end.
There were about dozen folks asked to come in to his room and prayer. The next morning he was doing much better.
I may be making a trip over there soon.
UPDATE August 20: Praise the Lord, once again Marvin is home. There are still outstanding test and lab reports, but the dropping of the blood count has slowed a bit and there is no need for him to be hospitalized at this time.
Brother Don seemed a bit better yesterday and has maintained that level today. He still has a long way to go til full recovery. He is a strong man, though, and will be back at AFA before anyone else expects him to be.

Mike Roby has pneumonia and is currently trying to recover so we need to keep him in our prayers as he is currently unable to train, much less race. Mike has been out of work all week and will need time to recover even after the pneumonia clears. Please pray for God's healing hand and rest for Mike.
Update on Donna's dad...
Donna's dad has been up at Emory Hospital undergoing more physical therapy as he tore a muscle in his thigh on his right leg which is paralyzed. He is doing much better and we are thankful for all the prayers lifted up for him.

Prayer request: Most of you know or have meet David Howe and his son Chris. Apparently Chris contacted David and was having some sort of problem with his leg. David advised him to head to the hospital where he was admitted and has some sort of infection. Doctors are running test but have not determined what the problem is yet. David has left for New York to be with Chris.
UPDATE June 6, 2009: Chris had STREP bacteria enter a blister on his shin (from playing hockey). It was dormant for almost 8 weeks before deciding to show itself. He did a hard run last Saturday (5-30-09). The next day, he felt bad and thought it was from the workout. In a 24 hour period, it created a big dark red area the size of you hand on his shin and then spread up his leg and into the lymph nodes in the groin. He suddenly spiked a fever of 102. He was admitted to the hospital and placed in intravenous antibiotics immediately. He stayed in the hospital for 3 days and is now home on oral antibiotics for 10 days. He is expected to recover fully. We appreciate your prayers and support. He is going to run today for the first time since the infection.
